Minor Skin Surgery
Expert removal of moles, cysts, lipomas and more – with care and precision.
At Charles Loh Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, we offer safe, effective, and minimally invasive skin surgery for a wide range of minor conditions. Whether you’re concerned about a mole, cyst, lipoma or a suspicious skin lesion, our consultant-led service ensures you’re in expert hands from consultation to follow-up.
Minor skin surgery is performed on-site at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital under local anaesthetic, meaning you can return home the same day with minimal downtime. If a procedure requires general anaesthetic, we can arrange for this to be carried out in a fully equipped operating theatre for your comfort and safety.
What We Treat
We specialise in the diagnosis and surgical removal of:
- Skin Moles – Including atypical or suspicious moles; removed for medical or cosmetic reasons
- Cysts – Such as sebaceous or epidermoid cysts
- Lipomas – Benign fatty lumps beneath the skin
- Skin Tags & Warts – Causing irritation or cosmetic concern
- Keloids & Hypertrophic Scars – Scar tissue overgrowth requiring specialist revision
- Skin Cancers – Including basal cell carcinoma (BCC), squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and melanoma (with histology)
- Other benign or suspicious lesions – All treated with expert clinical judgement
All excised tissue is sent for histopathological analysis, ensuring an accurate diagnosis and peace of mind.

FAQs
Common Questions
We understand that choosing skin surgery is a personal decision, and it’s normal to have questions about the procedure, recovery, and what happens next. Below, we’ve addressed the most common queries from patients to help you feel confident and informed.
All surgery leaves some scarring, but Mr Loh uses advanced plastic surgical techniques to minimise visibility. We also offer scar revision options if needed.
No referral is necessary for self-pay patients. If you’re using insurance, you may need authorisation from your provider. Please contact your insurer for authorisation code.
There is option to opt for histology if required. Mr Loh will discuss further in consultation.
Most patients resume normal activities the same or next day. Stitches (if used) are removed within 5–14 days.
